My character, Ned, has gone through an amazing growth spurt. In just a few months, he grew from 12 or 13 years old to 17! From what I understand, Ned was aged up so he could get into additional ghost-related mischief and help solve the quandaries each episode. Now that he is a bit older, he can be a bigger part of everything. He’ll be more involved in solving crimes, sending ghosts into the light and acting as Jennifer [Love Hewitt]’s sidekick. He had a girlfriend in one episode, but she hasn’t come back yet. I’ll just chalk that up to the mysteries that haunt Grandview, NY.
There is a lot of me in the character, so Ned’s easy to interpret. He always tries to help everyone out, and I hope that I am as good as he is! Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a superpower and can’t see ghosts. Maybe I could carry a really long sword instead... that’s standard high school issue right?
In North Carolina we have a lot of ghost stories. I do believe in ghosts, and I’m not just saying that because I’m on this show. Whether they’re tangible spirits floating around or just energy around us, I don’t know. But I do think they exist.
Ghost Whisperer hasn’t changed my life too much. It’s great to have a job. Since my character is new, people don’t recognize me on the street, so I guess I still have that to look forward to. Although I think that would be kind of strange, people knowing me, but I don’t know them. The set is a pretty laid back atmosphere and most of the cast and crew have been there for the entire run of the show. It’s a great place to work.
Plus they feed us well. So I don’t have anything to complain about.
